Happy Monday! And surprise, this post is actually on Monday! LOL I normally try to write the post before or the day I post but life just gets in the way. Ya know? Anyways, today I’ll be sharing a look that you could wear to interview in or for work! Just because you have to look professional, doesn’t mean you have to look like all the other cookie cutter women out there. Stand out, be yourself, and feel confident and you can rock anything, and I mean ANYTHING you wear. This is an easily recreated outfit with items you probably already have in your closet! SCORE! Most of these pieces were already in my closet but I’ll link very similar pieces for both ends of the budget spectrum.
Pumps: my pumps
This is a classic look revamped! White, navy and black. How can you go wrong?! You can’t. Women of all sizes, shapes, and ages can pull this look off. I just paired a comfy white turtleneck with long sleeves (winter time blues), a basic fitted navy blazer, and cropped black pants. I accessorized my look with pearl jewels (always classic), a large black belt that I stole from my mama’s closet a while ago-thanks mama!-and velvet blue pumps. If you don’t like wearing pumps, navy flats work the same too! I actually wore the flats while driving and slipped the heels on in the office.
I kept this look very monochromatic. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I love simple monochromatic looks. They are just more classic and seem more upscale than they are. I kept my makeup very neutral with earthy brown/nude tones. I didn’t want to go too overboard with the makeup since I actually wore this to an interview today. And great news, I GOT THE JOB!!! SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! I’ll tell y’all more once I officially accept the offer letter this week. Hint: it’s a great company that mama and I have loved and gone to ever since I can remember. Like that really narrows it down, right?! HAHA.
Anyhow, this look is timeless and I incorporated some key season trends that you can swap out every year. This year is all about deep rich colors (i.e. wine, navy, mauve, etc), velvet textures, and simple fashion. Navy is timeless and great for wintertime. Say I were to wear this outfit last year, I wouldn’t belt the blazer, I’d probably wear a more mock neck top or blouse, I would have full length pants, and suede blue pumps or flats. See how easy it is to take the same outfit into a different year? SO EASY! So classy and classic, and so luxe without the price tag.
Thanks for stopping by today and joining me on this journey! I’m so proud of how life is unraveling (in a good way). Stay tuned because I’ll be posting a For Him gift guide tonight as well! I promised on Saturday. I hope you enjoyed today’s post and I’ll see y’all back here on Friday!!
